Bridge pier is the support system of the bridge which plays an important role in the whole bridge system. Studying the seismic performance of the bridge pier is the first step to research the seismic resistance of the whole bridge. The stability and the seismic performance of a bridge pier directly affects whether it can maintain the integrity of the bridge as well as an important guarantee for security when the bridge attacked by the earthquake. Therefore, it is necessary to study the seismic behavior of the bridge piers.A number of reinforced concrete rectangular hollow pier models are established in this paper. In this paper, two kinds of finite element software are used to analyze the numerical simulation. The static nonlinear analysis of the model is carried out. The paper analyzes the hysteretic behavior under low cyclic loading. Through analysis:First of all two kinds of finite element model can better simulate the nonlinear behavior of hollow bridge piers under load. Secondly the increase of axial compression ratio and reinforcement ratio of the pier plays an important role in improving the capacity of the bridge pier bearing capacity, energy dissipation capacity, ductility and other seismic performance. Finally, it is concluded that this kind of hollow pier has good seismic performance through the simulation data and drawing related graphics.The numerical simulation results are compared with the experimental results. The correctness of the model is verified.The results of simulation of coupling match with the fact. in the actual construction of the future of the project has a certain reference value.
