Currently, the main method of preventing the formation of coal dust during the railway transportation for coal is spraying liquid of dust suppressant to the coal seam surface. As relevant government department attach great important to reducing environmental pollution and improving resource utilization, railway sector undertaking the main work of coal transportation puts forward higher requirements to the function of sprinkler system for dust suppressant. Namely with achieving the function of spraying dust suppressant,the sprinkler system for dust suppressant also has the advantages of being applicable to a wider speed range,intermittent spraying, recycling excess dust suppressant directly, a higher degree of automation and so on. The paper designs and researches a side-direction sprinkler system for dust suppressant based tapered cylinder to achieve the above functions and advantages.According to the deficiencies of the current sprinkler system for dust suppressant, the paper designs and researches the side-direction sprinkler system for dust suppressant based tapered cylinder to make it have the advantages of adapting a wider speed range, intermittent spraying, recycling excess dust suppressant directly, a higher degree of automation. the paper mainly designs and researches the mechanical structure and electrical control system of the sprinkler system being installed the side of the railway for dust suppressant based tapered cylinder. The specific contents of the respective portions are as follows:(1) The paper describes the idea of designing the side-direction sprinkler system for dust suppressant based tapered cylinder in detailed. the sprinkler system uses tapered cylinder to achieve the function of cutting the liquid jet of the dust suppressant and recycling excess dust suppressant directly. In order to improve the degree of automation and adapt the different models, the sprinkler system increase the lifting device, the angle adjusting device and the jetcoincide adjusting device circle.(2) The tapered cylinder is the most important component of the side-direction sprinkler system for dust suppressant based tapered cylinder. the possible deformations are analyzed when it works. In order to guide the late practical engineering, their force conditions are theoretically researched.(3) The velocity measurement of two models and the rotation law of the tapered cylinder are designed and researched for the purpose of achieving the function of cutting the liquid jet of the dust suppressant and recycling excess dust suppressant directly, namely, intermittent spraying.(4) According to the movement requirement of the side-direction sprinkler system for dust suppressant based tapered cylinder, the electrical control system of the sprinkler system is completely designed, including selecting the core electrical components and drawing the circuit diagram of the control system. On the basis of this, the programs of respective function models are programmed and the core program is debugged.
