Ribbed slab is a popular floor applicated in many long span strucutures. Till now,the method of comfort design for this type slab is rarely reported. In this paper, the self-vibration frequencies of this type structures are discussed. In order to establish a convenient method for this type floors, some key parameters taking effect for comfort are studied. The details of the study shows as follow:1) Based on ANSYS parameter program, 30 modals are established in this paper.The effect of various parameters, such as, length-width ratio, span-height ratio,grid density and so on, are investigated. A formula was obtained by multi-parameter regression analysis based on the 30 results. The results shows that the formula can be used to evaluate the strucutures’ frequencies very conveniently.2) Based on current pedestrian loads functions, the paper gives a specific steps for comfort design of this type plates with ANSYS program, which can provide a foundation for further study in related fields..3) In the paper, Two methods, walking route method and fixed point excitation method, are used to analysis the difference of the vibration response. Some advices about the two methods’ application are obtained.4) A comfort design procedures for ribbed plates are proposed in this paper. The results from this paper can be viewed as a theoretical reference in related fields.
