Multi-ribbed slab structure is a new structural system, characterized by low-weight, energy-saving, thermal retardation and sound insulation, environmental protection, fast construction, economy and good aseismic performance. Now, staged accomplishments have been achieved in the academic and applied research on the multi-storied multi-ribbed building and moderate-high multi-ribbed building. However, as a new structural and for its complex load-bearing performance, some problems are still needed to be solved, such as earthquake damage model. The paper is devoted to studying on the multi-ribbed composite wall, which is the main bearing member in multi-ribbed slab structure. This paper proposes a new type of damage model on the basis of analyzing the existing damage parameters and damage models. On the basis of the previous researches, and through experiments and numerical analysis in detail, the paper focuses on the earthquake damage model of Multi-ribbed composite wall and every floor of Multi-ribbed Slab Structure.The main content is described as follows:1. With the point of damage, failure proceeding of multi-ribbed composite wall is studied. The current seismic damage theory and research status are presented, discussing systematically accomplishments of seismic damage assessment of building structures in three levels of material, element and structure.2. Based on the damage mechanics and the characteristics of Multi-ribbed Slab Structure, presenting a method of the model which is expressed in form of combination of degrading stiffness corresponding to maximum displacement and accumulated energy dissipation, presenting a two-parameter earthquake damage model of Multi-ribbed composite wall.3. The value of the parameter in the model is be given based on the the experimental datum. Then, a two-parameter earthquake damage model of Multi-ribbed composite wall is be established.4. The range of damage indices to different damage level and the three-level seismic design performance objective of Multi-ribbed composite wall are provided.5. Simplified analysis model was established for Multi-ribbed composite wall. And based on previous experiments of multi-ribbed composite walls and a 1/10-scaled model shaking table test of 10 stories multi-ribbed slab structure, the validity of the model is verified.6. Finally, dynamic analysis of multi-ribbed slab structure according to aseismatic code is carried out. Then damage indices of every floor are calculated using the dynamic results mentioned above according to the model proposed in this paper.
