Study On Landscape Greening Of Residential District In Xi’an

Residential area greening is an important part of urban greening construction, at the same time; it’s closely related to the people’s lives. As the social development and improvement of citizen’s needs, it is necessary to explore and construct a livable environment in a scientific and practical way and in order to improve the eco-environment, it is essential to improve the ecological environment with the rational landscape design.The paper analyzes the current situation and problems of residential area greening in Xi’an. It does a survey by the investigation and research of relative elements about landscape in two residential areas, and including several elements of landscape design and plant disposition. According to the principle of functions, features of urban residential area greening design and relative methods, it points 5 problems about the living green area in common resident. 1. The shortage of greening area or occupied. 2. The design for the pursuit of landscape instead of the usage 3. There are so many novelty plants that it’s imbalanced between soft landscape and hard landscape. Only focus on some expensive or foreign plants: not only there are some simple and common plants but also there are no plants at some old residents at all. 4. The level of green plants to be improved; 5. Lack the maintenance of later stage.However, how to build a high-level eco-environment residential areas? We must consider the view that it can make a great difference in the social and economic benefits. It’s also based on the theory of principles landscape, the functions, and the characteristics about city residential. So this paper mainly talks about: 1. landscape design of residential area should adjust measures to local conditions; strengthen the budget and the cost management 2. For the actual needs of leisure and communication, we should design a scientific and humane landscape. We should form a geographical features, distinctive style, comfortable and livable living area. 3. To play a greater ecological effect, it is important to develop the vertical greening pattern vigorously, to design plant disposition rationally.4. Strengthen the budget and the cost management. 5. Strengthen to maintain the green landscape and consolidate the achievements of green areas.
