Reservoir immersion, which is due to reservoir impoundment or other human activities uplift surface water, made the groundwater level rise, is a comprehensive disaster that caused various problems. Reservoir immersion is one of the comprehensive disaster that with the complex mechanism of reservoir and the serious impact, it happened in our country especially prone plains. Our country each year suffer enormous economic losses due to the reservoir submerged, thence, from the angle of continued development, the study of the mechanism of reservoir immersion, impact, taking associated preventive measures is of great practical significance.Shifosi Reservoir is the typical plain reservoir that located in Liao-river, since the reservoir impounding, the right bank of the auxiliary dam downstream areas appeared different degrees of immersion phenomenon, which effects the downstream area of agricultural production and life seriously. Therefore, every year the Reservoir Management bureau suffered huge economic burden. This paper is based on previous research, expounded the types and causes of the reservoir submerged, analysising the impact of reservoir immersion on buildings, crops, soil and underground buildings, summed up the main factors leading to the reservoir submerged are underground water level, soil texture, surface water resistance.Through the experiment of soil moisture rate and found that the downstream soil moisture content is higher in area near the auxiliary dam in Chenping, with increasing distance from the dam axis of the auxiliary dam, the rate of water content in soil gradually reduces, but also lessens the immersion phenomenon. The soil water content in downstream of the right auxiliary dam is related to reservoir seepage and precipitation recharge. In order to determine the influence of rainfall on the local immersion, calculating local rainfall under different frequencies according to the Liaoning Provincial hydrology geological data, and then calculates the corresponding runoff routing depth. According to reservoir built drawings selected typical cross to calculate seepage, it is found that the single wide seepage discharge in auxiliary dam is very large, there are serious leakage losses, Reservoir seepage is the main cause of rising downstream groundwater levels, soil capillary water rising increases the soil moisture and has an impact on crops, combined with the right bank of the auxiliary dam downstream of the low-lying, poor discharge conditions, rainfall likely to cause serious water stains waterlogging phenomenon.By setting the related boundary conditions, using the Visual Modflow groundwater simulation software to establish the model and simulation to predict changes of groundwater in downstream areas when reservoir runs in different water level, given the groundwater level line in downstream areas of the right bank auxiliary dam in Shifosi Reservoir, then determining the scope of immersion under the different height. In addition, it also puts forward the feasible prevention measures of immersion, providing reference for some practical problems of similar projects.
