| The botanic gardens emerge and evolve with the development of the human society. In recent years, the rapid development of industry has brought us rich material wealth, while the nature environment has been destroyed seriously due to people’s greedy and uncontrolled use. The global warming has caused the unbalance of the eco-system, an increasing number of species have become extinct or endangered, and the biodiversity is facing a serious threat. The international community strongly calls for the protection of biological diversity and sustainable development, the botanic gardens should undertake the social responsibility and obligation in new age. Meanwhile, the urbanization lead to the decrease of the green space. People are eager to nature, green and healthy living environment. People’s recreation and esthetic demand has increased, which make the botanic gardens face new challenges on planning and construction in new age. Most of the botanic gardens in China were built in the early days of the founding of the PRC. Due to various constraints, there is still huge difference between China and foreign countries.The paper gives an inspection of basic concept, function types and brief history related to botanic gardens, then summarize the basic strategy about the planning and construction of the Chinese botanic gardens through studying the practice since the founding of the PRC. Then, on the basis of it, searching the development trends of modern botanic gardens planning and construction in new age with the in-depth study and concrete analysis of the advanced practice of the domestic and foreign botanical garden, and making some summaries and reflections. In the end, the paper attempts to apply the study results above to practice targetedly, through the practice of the northeast asia botanical gardern of Changbai moutain. Finally, the paper put forward some suggestions about the future development about Chinese botanic gardens. |
