Architecture Design For Library In Zhongbei Campus Of Nanjing Normal University

In recent years, with the development of high education, the construction of university is growing vigorously, and the construction of university library is also more and more. With the development of new technology, such as multimedia, computer, network and so on, a huge change has happened to the function and layout of library. The university library has changed from the closed, single building into an open, multi-functional compound building, so the architecture design methods of university library also have a great change. The architecture design methods of modern university library have strong regularity. Through to the related literature research, and the case analysis of existing university library, the paper discusses the design methods of modern university library. The atrium is usually the central space of university library, and it takes the charge of many functions, such as reading, exhibition, assembly, rest, communication and so on. So the paper makes a research of the design of the atrium. The research results will provide reference for the project named architecture design for library in Zhongbei campus of Nanjing Normal University which I have participated in. In the process of the design, I optimize the design according to the research results and the site analysis. At the same time, combined with the actual design process, I deepen the research on the architecture design methods of modern university library.This paper is divided into five parts. The first part introduces the background, research purpose, research content and research methods. The second part introduces the general situation of the library and analyses the location and the surrounding environment. At the same time, it introduces the master plan of the campus and the relationship between the library and the campus to make the design suitable. The third part is prophase study. I research on the design methods of the library and the atrium combined with the paper and case study. The fourth part describes the design process of the library, from concept generation, site design, column modulus, functional layout, streamline design, space form, facade design to atrium design. Atrium design is according to the function and physical environment. The fifth part is the technical drawings.
