As the main collection mode of the urban rail transit, contact state and the vibration response of track/shoegear collection are directly affecting train’s the collection quality. At present, there is little research on the dynamic characteristics of the third rail/shoegear system in China, and the evaluation index of the flow quality has not put forward. Based on the mode of third rail/shoegear vehicle coupling dynamics, the dynamic characteristics of the system are studied, contents are as follows:(1) According to the vibration condition and the actual working condition of the shoegear, the rigid body dynamics model is established. After that the degree of freedom and the constraint conditions are obtained, and the generalized degree of freedom is defined, so that the dynamic equations can be derived by the Lagrange method.(2) Finite element analysis is carried out on the third track as the Euler beam element. Without considering the shear deformation of the beam, the dynamic equation of the third rail is derived by the weighted residual method based on the general equations of motion of the beam element.(3) The contact relationship of the two model coupling is described by the nonlinear Hertz contact theory Based on the above mathematical model and coupling process MATLAB program is written, the central difference method is selected for simulation. Then take a collection system of upper contact in China as an example to analysis its dynamic simulation. The result of vibration characteristic test is compared with the simulation results in order to verify the rationality of the model.(4) The vibration response of the third rail/shoegear system is calculated under different track materials, spans, moving object’s mass, connection stiffness and running speed, while the influence of track defects on the system vibration is analyzed emphatically. Finally, the calculation results were evaluated by the evaluation indexes of pantograph catenary system’s collection quality.
