At present, we have entered the informational society. With the development of computer technology, it has been widely used in various fields.In the process of product development, the speed of model building determines the level of efficiency of product development. In the initial stage of product design, the parameters with some uncertainty should be determined its rationality after the assembly and the performance testing. It requires model is easy to modify. "Parametric design" is the conversion of changing "constants" into "variables", it makes parameters can be adjusted freely. When the parameter values change, you can get different design models with different technical features.In the field of mechanical design, if an error occurred(such as improper parameter selection, calculation error, etc.) during the selection of the data, applying the formula to calculate, checking calculation results and any other link in the traditional design process. Designers must refer back to the relevant literature and make a large amount of calculation. It is a big workload with the low work efficiency.The introduction of the method of parametric design solve the above problems effectively. It will put data selection, working condition, calculation formula and result verification in the form of code package in the executable file with the filename extension of exe. Designers start the program, data is inputted in the edit box or selected in the combo box in the interface, completing design calculation and check and calculation results through “computing” functions of software. Avoiding the repeated access to documents and repetitive calculations. It greatly reduces the work intensity of designer and improves the work efficiency.In the crane industry, the method of “parametric design” has been widely used. Today, with the trend of the development direction of large tonnage crane products, crane manufacturers update and perfect the method of “parametric design” constantly, in order to adapt to the modern requirement of crane design.Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0 provides a platform for the software development. It is C language compiler that Microsoft Company launched a visual programming software in 1998. Designers can develop a variety of C/C++ application in the development platform.Building new projects, compilation, debugging, and operating options are included in the main menu bar and the operation is simple. This software can open multiple project files in the same workspace. It is convenient to copy and paste program code between the different project files.Using Microsoft Visual C++ to develop applications commonly used the following two patterns: MFC mode and Windows API mode. Compared with the Windows API mode, the difficulty of MFC model is relatively low and the workload is small. It comforms to the feature of software development industry which pursuits “high efficiency”.The thesis introduces the source and background of the subject, the significance of research; structure and working principle of slewing system; the method of calculation and formula of slewing system design; overall design of software; developing software based on the platform of Microsoft Visual C++; the technology of dynamic link library(dll) file generation and software testing in the Windows operating system several aspects.
