Courtyard space is a basic organization techniques which has profound historical background and great development potential space.The development of courtyard space is a kind of emotion which is popular with people’s love and wants to melt into nature. Today, with the growing importance of the natural landscape, the courtyard space not only shows strong vitality, but also has broad prospects for development.In China, mountainous occupy most of the area, people for "mountain" of worship and awe is different from the waterfront and plains.At present, our country is lack of the uniqueness and regional characteristics of the space design of the mountain building in the mountainous area,In dealing with the special natural conditions of mountain area, it is easy to neglect the integration of the courtyard space and the surrounding natural environment, just simply follow the approach of the ground,in the end, not only makes the whole courtyard space lack of the special region of the mountain, but also makes the original terrain and vegetation destroyed.In this paper, we begin with the traditional courtyard space,Through the analysis of its spatial characteristics and the development of history, the establishment of a whole of the courtyard space of cognition,and then, from the perspective of regional analysis of the characteristics of Hunan mountain and the influence of the courtyard space design,Thereafter, according to the order ofmountain building construction, respectively from the construction site, site design to building groups, building flat, facade design, from each link were studied on courtyard space in mountain building in construction.And on its basis to explore the architecture and harmony of nature. Finally, the design studies for Tingquan Academy Zhu Xunde Museum of yard space to re-examine the introduction of the "first environment, after building", more eco-design approach.
