Based on the criteria of building code and parking garage code, the principles and parking requirements of lift-sliding mechanical parking system are introduced in the paper. The basic parameters of steel three-dimensional garage, such as storey height, the load combination and load calculation are determined.According to the researches of these kinds of frame structure with different layers, the influences of different layers and structural types on the mechanical characteristics are analyzed. The structural displacements and stresses are obtained by the software ABAQUS6.14. The stresses and lateral displacements of the beam-column structures are compared and analyzed seperately. The main contents are as follows:(1) Combining the parking characters and the busy parking with the principles of structure design, The types and forms of the loads and the values and the combinations of the loads in the design are determined.(2) The finite element model of this kind of parking structure is builted. The stress and strain analyses are carried for the mechanical parking system by the software ABAQUS6.14. It also investigates the characteristics of the system whether or not it is satisfied with the operating requirements.(3) The elastic and plastic deformations of this type of frame are analyzed. For the three different kinds of frame structure of the mechanical parking system, the modal analyses and PUSH-OVER analyses are carried out by the software SAP2000, and the anti-seismic performances are also analyzed.Through the results of the analyses, the conclusions are as follows:(1) In a single library in multi-storey frame structure, the higher the height of the frame structure is, the greater the cross section of component will be. When the structure’s height reaches a certain value, the stresses of the component and the coefficient of utilization of the steel begin to decrease.(2) If the numbers of the basic units of the frame structure are increased, the lateral displacement began to decrease, which indicates that the overall lateral stiffness has increased, and the anti-seismic performances are obviously enhanced.(3) With the increase of the lateral supports, the lateral stiffness of the structure rise significantly, and the stresses of the beams and columns of the frame begin to increase and the utilization rate of the steel is improved and the anti-seismic performance is enhanced. Though the design of structure is controlled by the structure stiffness, we can change the form of the structure to increase the design height of the structure.
