Exploring the material products and the symbol of the spirit in farming culture, using appropriate techniques to reproduce it in modern landscape, it cannot only enrich the landscape culture and satisfy people’s spiritual needs, It’s also an effective way to diversification and differentiation. Therefore, how to inherit and develop the farming culture in modern Landscape Architecture is very importantThis paper studied on the detail contents of farming culture, including the origin and development, main features, key types, contemporary value and inheritance way. After analyzing the basic theories which can be applied to the modern Landscape Architecture, then discussed the relationship between them, found out the value and the significance of farming culture in modern Landscape Architecture on regional characteristic, national character and function requirements etc. And focused on farming culture’s key types as the main research object, which including the solar term phenological, agricultural tools, irrigation and water conservancy, agronomic thought and folk art, explained the influence on modern Landscape Architecture, then summarized the application methods in the landscape conception, landscape elements, decorative pattern and the creation of artistic conception. At Last, taking the core area design of Qingxi landscape and agricultural sightseeing garden in YiYang for a practical example, verified the rationality and feasibility of the theoretical results.
