Study On The Makeups Optimization Of The Railway Express Freight Trains

With China’s economic environment gradually entering the New Normal, the supply structure and competition pattern of the freight logistics market has undergone major changes. To actively meet the current situation, the railway freight is accelerating to promote the development of modern logistics and concentrating on building the railway express trains which meets customers’demand. However, there are a lot of outstanding issues of the railway express trains such as goods are difficult to organize, the timelinss is difficult to guarantee and the operation is difficult to stabilize. Then studying on operating railway express trains to meet the market requirements of the class, high density and small makeups becomes an urgent task. As for the operation of the railway express trains with small makeups, it is important to determine the makeups in each train. All in all, study on optimization of the makeups on the express freight train is of important significance in meeting customers’needs, increasing the flexibility of the transport organization, reducing the logistics cost, improving the efficiency of the whole railway logistics organization and so on.This paper has carried out a systematic study on the optimization of makeups of the Railway Express Trains, relying on major issues related to Railway Corporation through field research and data analysis. The main contents are as follows:(1)This paper analyses the environment of the railway to develop modern logistics and the current situation of domestic and international railway express freight. Then the development situation of freight logistics market is summarized and the concept of "interval value" of makeups for "full axis with long" and "allocation of fixed length" is elaborated. And the theory of the flexibility in the makeups of Railway Express Trains is defined.(2)The influence of the convenience of railway transportation on the probability of the customer selection is discussed. After that, the paper gives a detailed analysis of generalized cost in railway freight transportation and gives the methods of calculating benefit of Railway Express trains. Then the paper constructs the optimization model with the goal of minimum generalized cost of the railway freight customer and maximize the benefit of single and multiple types of railway express trains, which is constraint on the operation frequency and capacity.(3)For instance verification, the paper takes the operation scheme of express trains in Minhang Shanghai railway logistics center from Beijing to Shanghai as empirical. Firstly, the paper analyses the relationship between general cost of fast and express trains in cargo transportation, benefit of railway transportation enterprises and makeups of the trains. After that, the results of the optimization of makeups in a single class and two class combinations are obtained and the "cost-guaranteed" makeups, the best makeups and feasible interval value of different types of trains are determined. At last, this paper puts forward some suggestions on the operation scheme of express trains in Shanghai Railway Administration.
