Ditch is the artificial water delivery and water distribution facility for irrigation, drought resisting and drainage. And it is the lifeblood of plow, which is significant for guaranteeing food security. With the quick development and construction of social economy and urban-rural integration, more and more canals become to go across the towns. They are not only for irrigation and drainage, but also have a ecological function of protecting environment and providing green land as well as a social function of relaxation, entertainment and landscape. However, the existing canal projects are always with a economical purpose, safe structure and high efficient water delivery etc. Which cause to deteriorate the environment and decrease the living species for the lack of consideration of landscape and humanity. So, it is urgent to actively carry out the technological improvement and optimizations of canals’ landscape ecological function, and create a urban ecological landscape canal combined with features of ecological, landscape, economical and functional.Actually, it becomes a hot research spot, with theoretical and practical significances.Aimed at the neglected deterioration of ecological environment in planning, designing and construction of the present canal project, and based on the theoretical analysis, experiment research, optimal design and application and demonstration, this thesis put forward a optimal design plan and system to urban ecological landscape canal and studied a series of key technology.First, aimed at the situation that some animals fell into the canal and caused to death, this thesis chose frogs as the sample and developed a experimental research to its habits in motion, measuring its the maximum jumping height of vertical side slope and maximum slant side slope and ecological board slope that frog could crawl out. Therefore, the data from the experiment provided a scientific basis for the ecological design of canal.Next, based on the research materials and experimental results in domestic and overseas, and combined with conditions, functional requirements and some other comprehensive factors in the areas of engineering project, this study did a optimal design research on canal from the function, zoology, landscape and humanity factor.etc.Third, the experimental results were applied to the construction of ecological landscape canal project in Lu shan county with coordination of the functional requirements, such as production, zoology, landscape and life.etc. The main achievements as follows: (1)The trapezoidal cross-section with a gentle slop is convenient for animals like frog to jump out of the canal successfully. (2)The ecological lining for canal is good for planting water plants in canal and also provides the habitable spaces for animals. (3)Building the ecological bridges are easy gor animals to walk through freely around the canal’s both sides. (4)Protecting slope in a ecological way avoids the water and soil erosion and maintains the original ecological environment. (5)Setting some green belts for planting can reach at a purpose of beautifying environment. (6)Collocating some recreational and convenient facilities, like pavilions, benches, streetlights and ladders.etc. which are convenient for residents’ relaxation and entertainment.This thesis was mixed with irrigation and drainage engineering, zoology, biology, landscape science, environics and other various subjects, coordinating systematically the regional ecological development, functional requirements of landscape and urbanization development. And this thesis construct a new design mode of urban ecological landscape canal, which solves the problem well of only focusing on conveyance efficiency with neglecting the ecological function and environmental deterioration in canal planing, designing, constructing in the past time. All of this obtained a good economic, ecological and environmental interests, which had a wide range of potential applications and was good for promoting canal water conservancy facilities to the direction of Eco-development, landscape and sustainable utilization.
