With the improvement of quality of their life, The number of the cars that people demand increased year by year, and the lock of the automobile trunk is the key components in driving safety and anti-theft, which requires mass production of high-end configuration lock. In order to improve the production of automobile trunk lock capacity and quality, then to improve the performance of the whole vehicle, and to increase the market share and competitive. It is necessary to design and development process equipment production line to product the lock car trunk with high efficiency and quality.This paper is based on the resistance welding procedure of the connection of the type lock of the automobile trunk,to develop the special process equipment: special automatic resistance welding equipment. After investigating the design and manufacturing process of a variety of non- standard automated production lines and analysis the resistance welding process and process equipment deeply. To explore the resistance welding technology and its application in automobile trunk lock assembly, and studies the key technology for welding technology and equipment, successfully developed a special automatic resistance welding equipment for connecting parts welding. It described the present situation of resistance welding process equipment,and starting from the actual needs of low cost and high quality automatic welding,to introduced the structure and design method of special automatic resistance welding equipment, and to analysis the design principle and function of the main parts of the equipment.In the design process, the research and analysis of the key parts such as the division of the whole lock assembly process, connecting pieces of the resistance welding process, the overall planning of equipment, welding variable system, Integrated detection mechanism, welding mechanism, function testing agencies, equipment of bed and power system are done. Using SolidWorks 3D modeling reverse design method, virtual assembly is carried out before the equipment is made, so the assembly relationship of interfered between the sub assembly and between the parts and the components are checked. At the same time, The reasonable structure and size of the designed parts are checked. Using finite element analysis method to analysis the equipment bed frame, to analysis the static stiffness and free mode and constraint mode, the purpose is to determine design of the bed mechanism is reasonable. In the design stage, the use of the finite element method to analyze the equipment can shorten the development cycle and reduce the number of test pieces and save a lot of time and cost for the enterprise.
