Considering the characteristics of heat sink welding structure, automatic TIG welding equipment for stainless steel-copper welding structure was developed and welding process was studied and optimized. Firstly, in this paper, welding materials were studied and stain less steel 0Cr18Ni9 Ti, copper T2 have been chosen as optimal materials for welding as there was no welding crack.By the analysis methods such as metallographic structure analysis, EPMA, tensile test, and nondestructive testing, match of the welding current and welding speed, welding torch, weld angle, the distance of the torch nozzle weld to weld have been systemically studied. The optimal welding process can meet the needs of welding test.(1) For the technical requirements of automatic TIG welding equipment, the equipment mainly consists of three parts, mechanical system, service controls system and pneumatic control system.(2) In order to improve efficiency, preliminary experiments were conducted to find the match set of welding current and welding speed for the following detailed experiments.(3) Design welding process experiments using variable-controlling method to respectively study the welding influencing factors of match of welding current and welding speed, welding angle(welding torch and weld), welding distance(the distance of the torch nozzle to weld). Detection methods have been used to examine welding quality and optimized welding process parameters are obtained.
