Empirical Invesgtigation And Comprehensive Evaluation Of Boulevard Landscape Of Nanjing

As an important part of the urban landscape and ecological system construction, city greenway landscape is a direct reflection of the overall style of a city. In the context of urbanization, rise of eco-garden city construction and greenway as important indicator of ecological garden city, evaluation studies are made on Nanjing greenway landscape.Through the summary and analysis on a huge mass of relevant research data, the concept of greenway is proposed:Streets located in the city, with more than one row of large, medium trees on both sides forming a high green coverage and continuous tree-lined space, achieve traffic, landscape recreation, ecological benefits, culture inheritance and other integrated functions. Classification is made respectively according to the nature of the road, road construction, landscape type and main user. By nature of the road, they are:traffic and living; By road structure, they are:one-plate, two-plate, three-plate, four-plate; By landscape types, they are:natural scenery, business, residential, history& culture, and composite boulevard; By the main user, they are:people and vehicles mixing and pedestrian only.AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) is applied to build the comprehensive evaluation system Nanjing Greenway Landscape, coordinated from six aspects:plant landscape, environmental benefits, space, transport functions, integration of hard landscape, history and culture. Based on a list of 100 proposed representative roads Nanjing Bureau of Parks published in 2013,85 are chosen as investigation targets, in accordance with the overall score they are classified to 5 grades, in which class Ⅰ accounted for 9%, class Ⅱ accounted for 26%, class Ⅲ for 52%, class IV for 12%, class Ⅴ accounted for 1%. Score shows that the overall Nanjing Greenway landscape quality is fine, the type of natural scenery, history and cultural categories are the best among them, followed by the type of business, score of composite types shows polarization, residential type is accounted for the largest proportion which the landscape quality is the poorest. Basic characteristics are analyzed according to plate form, trees application characteristics, leaf color, flowering plant applications, vertical structure, age structure of dominant populations, and then based on the results of each standard layers score performance in different landscapes and scores of five greenway landscape, specific issues and aspects that need improved are proposed for different roads.Finally, according to the results of current research and ratings, specific issues of Nanjing greenways are classified and summarized, rational optimization solutions are provided for information and advice to the construction and development of Nanjing greenways.
