Structural Damage Analysis And Reinforcement Of Foundation Of A Power Distribution Plant In Handan

As the prime material of civil engineering, rebar and concrete have the durability damage problem which is continuous concerned by both the academic circle and the engineering circle. As we know, foundation concrete structures tend to be used in the underground engineering, so that the concrete will not only stand the upper loads effect, but also suffered from the long-term corrosive effect of the underground corrosive mediums, such as chloride, carbon dioxide, sulfate ions, acid rain and so on. In a result, obviously, these effects may lead to a structural property decline of the concrete, and then the safety and durability life of the entire construction maybe affected.There is a lot of factors may lead to the concrete structural damage. For instance, the load effect of the upper structure may result in harmful cracks. Besides, the basic environment effect, such as the mentioned corrosive mediums, could lead to the mechanical property decline. In this paper, I’ve done a random sampling test to the structure parts and the surrounding water of the chosen foundation concrete structures in Handan. According to the test, I analyzed the harmful media content in both the picked parts and the surrounding underground water. It is obvious that chloride ions, carbon dioxide, sulfate ion, which are mentioned as corrosive mediums, are the major factors lead to the property decline of foundation concrete structure.This paper analyzes the basic principle and adaptable condition of “increasing section method”, “prestressed reinforcement method” and some other reinforcement methods in detail. Referring to the experimental result and the requirements of “reinforced concrete structure design specifications”(GB 50367-2011), I redesign the foundation concrete structure with concerning the specific issues in Handan. This new design could be a helpful reference for similar projects in Handan.
