The design of wind-solar hybrid power system is always same in one area. The system data can validate whether it suits this area and satisfy the actual standard. In fact, the load and resource of wind and solar is different in different area. How to evaluate the whole system and then obtain a best optimized system are key technical issues.Firstly, this thesis established an effective and reliable B/S generation monitoring system specifically for the Northeastern University wind-solar hybrid power system. This system relies on local data acquisition module to collect and process the current and voltage signal from the solar panels, wind turbine, battery and inverter, as well as the signal of temperature sensor, anemometer, irradiator, then stores them in the database server. JSP program extracts the data from the database server for online display, and provide historical data query function of the different time span. The characteristics of B/S structure makes the monitoring program have the advantage of "write once, run anywhere". It can be used in anywhere with network which is convenient for remote monitoring system.Secondly, this thesis established a generating capacity model of wind-solar hybrid power system based on weather data via the analysis of the solar panels and wind turbine power generation characteristics, and according to the model to calculate the theoretical generating capacity of solar panels and wind turbine, then calculated the overall power generation efficiency of wind-solar hybrid power system with monitoring data. This thesis also carried out some exploration on the method to improve power generation efficiency.Finally, this thesis established an economy model of grid connected wind-solar hybrid power system, and calculated the cost of grid connected generation to get cost per kWh. This thesis analyzed some factors which affect the cost per kWh, and obtained the conclusion that the actual quantity of electricity is the largest effect of cost per kWh. Then this thesis researched the economic operation optimization for wind-solar hybrid power system.
