| Lead-acid battery, an important part of the direct current system, has been widely used in electric power, communication, transportation, finance and other fields as the the backup power since the last century. Lead-acid battery is the power supply for relay protection device,signal acquisition unit,communication equipment,emergency lighting and other important load.Now direct current system plays a more and more important role in the modern power system. As a power supply for relay protection device, signaling device, communication equipment, emergency lighting and other important load, its reliability of power supply directly affects the safe and stable operation of power system. To ensure the normal operation of power system and guarantee the reliability of power supply, it is very necessary to real-time monitor effectively of the batteries’ state the substation.Based on the batteries’ operating state of the substation, the paper analyzes lead-acid battery about the working principle, performance parameters as well as invalid principle mechanism and increased internal resistance test and automatic activation function in the generally running direct current monitoring system of substation. Based on real-time monitoring of the voltage, resistance, temperature of single battery and estimating the residual capacity of it, we can carry out pre-warning or alarm prompt for damaged battery and make the shallow discharge of battery regularly to activate the whole battery, which makes its residual capacity to meet the requirement of substation operation. |
