With the development of China’s automobile industry, some precision electronic components are not immediately put into use after production, and need to be storaged under the certain environment by regular inspection and maintenance during the storage period. So how to establish a reasonable storage availability model according to the fault regularity itself and maintenance support features, and to choose appropriate decision decision parameters satisfied the requirements of storage availability have always been difficult engineering problems. Thus, this paper proposes different storage availability modeling methods aimed at two common storage types and then the optimization problem is studied based on the proposed methods.The direct influence factors of storage availability are used as parameters for the storage availability modeling.For periodic testing, a storage availability models are proposed. Besides, another storage availability model is also established based on the proposed two kinds of storage availability model mentioned above are showed separately to be effective through cases studies.Based on the proposed steady models and instantaneous models of storage availability, the storage availability centered optimization method is studied. Here in this paper we propose a frequency domain method describing the stability of the instantaneous availability, which means that the approach to expressing the fluctuation energy of instantaneous availability is given. This paper analyzes the impacts on stability of the instantaneous availability by faults, testing time and maintenance time.Results show that the failure rate has influenced more on storage steady availability than storage instantaneous availability. The optimization problem is studied by GA:Optimization the stability of the storage instantaneous availability, with the storage steady availability and total cost as constraint.Finally, the proposed method is validated by simulation.The optimization results show that the presented method can keep the steady availability level and can also restrain the fluctuation phenomenon of the instantaneous availability effectively.
