In the 21st century, our country has made brilliant achievements in the road construction and road transport undertakings. With the rapid economic growth, the demand for dangerous goods across all industries has been steadily rising, accompanied by frequently occurring accidents of transport of dangerous goods.The rear-end accidents of dangerous goods will easily cause secondary major accidents, which will bring Significant losses to people and our country. It has become a prominent issue faced by the road transport management. The security issues of transport of dangerous goods draw extensive attention from all walks of life. Therefore, it is of great significance for us to s tudy rear protection technology for promoting the security of tank vehicles crash.Focusing on the accident form of dangerous goods vehicles’ rear-end collision with over size vehicles and aiming at the defect of the rear protective device, this paper puts forward and designs a new type of protective device which is better than the normal device in protecti ve performance. On this basis, it analyzes the collision properties and protective properties of the device with the method of combining simulated analysis with real train test. The main content include:(1) The real-end protective device design of the dangerous goods vehicle. By analyzing the accident caused by dangerous goods vehicles and aiming at the current defects of the dangerous goods vehicles protective device such as Insufficient structural strength, too small of protection scope and poor absorption power, to design a real-end protective device with good protection performance and large protection area.(2) FE model Establishment for dangerous goods vehicle rear-end collision. Referencing the test requirements in GB11567.2,GB13057and GB11551,Inputing the Geometric model which is built in Pro/E into Hypermesh, to build the finite element model for a tank vehicles, a bus and the protective device, then by assembling the model, setting boundary conditions, etc,to form the tank vehicle rear-end collision system and output the K-File finally.(3) The Simulated and experimental validation study of the rear-end collisions. Aiming at the tank vehicle which was installed a new protective device, through the simulation and experimental study on the Protective properties of the protective device such as structure deformation, Acceleration response, etc, verifying its availability of finite element model and its validity for the results.(4) Research on protective device protective properties. Direct at the dangerous goods vehicle, to study the protective device protective performance at the different working condition as rear-end vehicle quality, impact velocity, and collision angle. The results show that this new protective device is available to adapt to different collision conditions, perform excellent protective properties.(5) Research on the detection methods and safety protection index of real-end protective device. Combining the analysis and testing on FE, putting forward the detection method and safety protection index preliminary for the real-end protective device of dangerous goods vehicles, which have provided the reliable reason for the related technician to draw up the subsequent relevant standard in the future.
