With the development of the dynamicsand theoryintensive development, nonlinear dynamics theory and methods have also been concerned. Existing theoretical foundation has been used to solve the problems of linear structural dynamic analysis effectively.Dueing to the nature of structure changing, in the analysis of nonlinear structural dynamics,there are many problems,need to further researcher engaged in this research. Especially in the modern nonlinear dynamics theory in the application of the rotor dynamics,has become an important research field.In the rotating machinery there are many nonlinear problems in rotor dynamics, these nonlinear phenomenon cannot be explained by the classical linear theory and analysis.Inthe past the nonlinear mechanical problems,for convenient calculation, the method is simplified into a approximation linear one.This paper presents a method to solve the nonlinear response analysis of rotor system, the main research content includes:A brief review on the development situation was presented.The linear problem of the rotor system with gyroscopic forces was discussed;The linear modal perturbation method for extracting the nonlinear modal spectrum was presented; The free and forced vibration response analysis were presented; The computer implements of the local modal iterative perturbation were done using MATLAB.An application example of a rotor madal was given.Most of the classical numerical modal for the nonlinear response analysis are limited to the case with symmetry matrices of the nonlinear systems. In this paper,a new method was presented for the response analysis of the nonlinear with unsymmetry matrices.
