The traditional forced-based seismic design method is simple and practical, but not a comprehensive assessment of seismic structural damage, can not accurately reflect the true history of structural response either. At present, performance-based seismic design of earthquake engineering is a trend, mainly doing research in the two nonlinear aspect of static and dynamic study. Nonlinear static analysis of structures can be estimated nonlinear deformation, which method is closer to the actual than the carrying capacity.Dynamic time-history analysis is also to compare the response of the situation of dynamic in seismic design method. However, as ground motion is random, the dynamic time-history analysis is at the theoretical level. Nowadays, the nonlinear static pushover analysis has attracted the attention of more and more research for its merits of practicality. Pushover is used to assess the seismic performance of a nonlinear static analysis method. It combines the inelastic static analysis with the seismic response spectrum and avoids the time-costing process in nonlinear dynamic analysis.This thesis will carry capacity spectrum method and nonlinear response spectrum into modal Pushover analysis. Through the analysis of the performance of the modal point to consider structure of high-order mode, improving the precision of conventional Pushover analysis method and compared with the analysis results verify its applicability. Through analysis, we get the main aspects of research as following:(1) The application of the capacity spectrum method, greatly simplify the Modal Pushover analysis and create conditions for its application in practical engineering conditions.(2) Analyzing the process of nonlinear response spectrum method introduced in structure, after entering the nonlinear phase is still better applicability, popularize the modal analysis method of Pushover width and precision.(3) After the promotion of Pushover analysis and modal time-history analysis result, according to the actual situation of structure to consider appropriately structure modal quantity.
