Project management is an emerging management science integrating management theory with project management practices and modern project management engineering technologies. It is improved continuously throughout its history of several decades, and is systematically used throughout construction of projects, including subdivisional works of the project at present. Scientific project management has been widely used for practical construction in the world today, and thus has brought good economic and social benefits. It can cut construction cost, shorten construction period, and enhance construction quality.The project is the foundation for the construction company to survive. Especially in the background where the global economy gets more and more integrated and the construction market competitions get more and more cutthroat, the project implementation achievement is up to project management level, and the project management level depends mostly on the schedule management level. Therefore, it is necessary for a construction company to attach great importance to schedule management for efficiently operating his project and increase his earnings.Firstly, this study presents the profile of project management knowledge system, and the fundamental theories and methods for project schedule management, which fall into 2 classifications, the one is scheduling by WBS, Gantt Chart and Network Scheduling Chart(PERT and CPM), and the other is schedule control by Gantt Chart Comparison, S-Curve Comparison and Earned Value methods. Secondly, this study presents the profile and construction management of Cannes Times Square Construction Project(the Project). At last further probes into and focuses on the schedule management of the Project:(1) The chapter “Project Schedule Preparation” presents the activity definition and sequence, resource estimation, activity duration estimation, scheduling, crucial work and path, and construction duration calculation process of the Project, via project management WBS and critical path method, as well as Gantt scheduling chart and network scheduling chart by the computer project scheduling software employed.(2) The chapter “Project Schedule Control” presents the schedule control characteristics and system of the Project, dynamic project progress monitoring, progress inspection and schedule modification; progress inspection over early earth and stone work by S-curve comparison method, midterm progress inspection by the earned value method, and analysis of influence on follow-up work and total construction duration by progress issues of the late construction activity via Activity-on-Arrow, and at last schedule modification.By analyzing and studying the schedule management methodology for Cannes Times Square Construction Project, this study provides some references for building corporations to improve their project schedule management, and enhance construction efficiency and corporation operation efficiency.
