The Chinese high-speed railway network expends as the widespread construction of high-speed railway in China. The operation of night train on high-speed railway meets the need of increasing traffic and improves market share and competitiveness. Skylight is set to do the maintenance work early in the morning on high-speed railway in China, which leads to the conflict between maintenance work and night train operation. So, it’s practically significant to study the coordination between the night train organization and maintenance work on high-speed railway. The study is done in two aspects. One is skylight setting, the other is maintenance and construction plan scheduling. As a result, a theory and method of skylight setting and maintenance and construction plan scheduling is proposed. The main work and achievements can be summarized into the following three parts.(1) Based on the study and analyze of status quo of skylight on high-speed railway at home and abroad, the skylight setting and maintenance work are summarized. The advantages and disadvantages of each skylight form and pattern are discussed. Considering the demand of night trains on high-speed railway and the conflict between night trains and skylight, a segmented rectangular skylight adjusted based on feeding sections is proposed. Maintenance contents and their cycles, maintenance scheduling management and skylight arrangement of three maintenance majors are summarized.(2) The model of segmented rectangular skylight adjusted based on sections is built. Given the specified night train operation plan and skylights requirements, the train diagram and skylight are optimized. Considering that feeding sections are the basic control units of skylight, the model of segmented rectangular skylight adjusted based on feeding sections is built in the same way of the model of skylight adjusted based on sections. Taking a virtual high-speed railway for example, the applicability of the model is verified.(3) The maintenance and construction plan scheduling model is built by two steps. First, the cycle maintenance plan model is built. Based on the parameters of maintenance items (maintenance cycle, duration and so on), maintenance items are arranged to each week, using unfixed cycle. In the meantime, the arrangement of maintenance items and the use of maintenance machines are optimized. Second, the daily maintenance plan model is built. The railway line is divided into several maintenance units. Based on the cycle maintenance plan of three maintenance majors and the specific skylight, maintenance items of cycle maintenance plan are arranged to day and specific maintenance unit. Thus, the daily maintenance plan is formed. In the meantime, the workload of maintenance items is maximized and the use of maintenance machines is optimized. Taking two virtual high-speed railways for example, the applicability of two models are verified.
