Bulk chemical ship primarily serving petroleum, coal and inorganic chemical industrial production and consumption processes in the logistics and transport sectors, the relevant industrial sector plays an important role in the national economy. It is essential for the country’s infrastructure and national defense construction, and closely related to the daily life of the people. The shipping of bulk chemical ship is a special and high-risk field in the shipping markets. It is more complex than the general ship in the aspects of handling, tank cleaning, personnel protection, and its potential accidents are catastrophic. Therefore, the research on 3-d bulk chemical liquid cargo handling simulation system is significant in theory and reality. In this paper, the virtual reality technology is used to develop marine engine room simulator.The main research work includes:establish the mathematical models of cargo pumps, cargo tanks, cargo pipe network, ballast water pipe network, hydraulic control systems and tank cleaning systems, and carry out the hydraulic analysis of liquid cargo network and ballast water pipe network, based on the study of bulk chemical carrier liquid cargo handling system and related systems working principle; establish the simulation processes of major equipments and related systems, and provide the appropriate support to a 2-d simulation software development; the 2-d simulation software is developed in Visual Studio 2013 platform, adopts GDI+technology to develop control graphical interface and uses the C# language to write the control code; achieve the functionality of each system, and complete the simulation of bulk liquid cargo handling system by making interface base map and software program design and development, establish the 3-d models of removable liquid cargo pump, cargo control console and cargo control room by using 3D modeling software, make logos and nameplates of equipment by using drawing software, optimize the 3-d models, give the optimization methods of 3-d mode. Establish the function of roaming in virtual scene by using 3-d game engine. Do research on collision detection and 3D pickup in 3D roaming scene. Realize the function of manual roaming and interaction with virtual scene; Research communication protocol, data communication protocol, UDP communication principle and the analysis of the principle of 2-d software interacting with 3-d software, the function of real-time interaction between 3-d software and bulk chemical cargo ship operation simulation software was achieved.
