With the increasing scarcity of energy, energy saving has become an extremely urgent task facing the current social development. The motor as a power of a variety of devices, are in various industries wide range of industrial fields, thus achieving energy saving motor industry has a pivotal role in the whole energy saving project. Air compressor as the main power source of industrial manufacturing industry, its energy consumption is very important, and its matching motor is the heart of the compressor, the motor is good or bad quality, the level of efficiency, will directly affect the energy efficiency of the compressor. The 15 kW and 2poles permanent magnet synchronous motor with air compressor is studied, the main work is divided into the following sections:Firstly, core loss of line-start permanent magnetic synchronous motor(LPMSM) is studied. Influence factors of core loss in LPMSM are concluded, and experiments of 6 motors are done. Results of core loss calculating and experiments are compared, to conclude the pattern and correction factor of core loss in stator yoke, as a reference when air compressors are designed.Secondly, in the light of the air compressor motor operating conditions developed performance requirements for the design, determining the main dimensions of the motor according to the program requirements and power level, in order to ensure the motor has high efficiency at the same time, both motor overload multiples, starting current multiple parameters such as standard, determine the motor stator inner diameter and motor stator outer diameter parameter, and comparative analysis of different rotor structure motor performance, motor vibration magnetic bridge size effects on motor magnetic flux leakage, motor rotor slot type influence on starting performance, the motor air gap length on motor harmonic and stray loss effect.Again, on how to improve the power factor, reduce the copper consumption and increase the pull-out torque is analyzed. Higher requirements for compressor motor overload capacity, characteristics of starting performance requirements is not high, the motor parameters, determines the final scheme of motor design. And for the prototype test, prototype rated efficiency can reach 94.31%.Finally, according to the calculation of permanent magnet synchronous motor load iron loss test value, there is no accurate unified scheme. Through theoretical analysis, the asynchronous starting permanent magnet motor terminal voltage and iron consumption into a certain proportion, and so can obtain the load voltage curve of iron loss test value through the no-load consumption of iron.
