With the development of economy, people’s living standard have been constantly improved and the concept of consumption are constantly changing. The most basic materials are unable to meet the needs of people, the more comfortable, convenient, environmental and individualized life style is pursued. As an advanced cleaning equipment of good environmental protection, great applicability and outstanding cleaning effect, household high-pressure cleaner was noted by the cleaning industry and families and developed quickly.In this paper, high-pressure water jet technology is the main study object. Based on theoretic analysis, the mechanical structure design and man-machine engineering design have been taken. In the end, a small household high-pressure cleaner is designed with the above analysis and experiment.In this paper, Firstly, the concept, the advantages and the application scope of high-pressure water jet technology is introduced. According to the current state of research, the overall design scheme of the high-pressure cleaner is carried out based on the generation mechanism and cleaning principle of high-pressure water jet.Combining the requirement of product model-making design, the design scheme of the cleaner’s body is proposed and this scheme should be further optimized. The optimization scheme is mainly about the man-machine structure analysis based on Human Posture Analysis(HPA) and the design requirement of drag device with CATIA software.Based on the principles and the design method of ergonomics, combining with the structure of human upper limb, anthropometry as well as the principles of the hand tools, the position of the cleaner water canon can be located. And the scheme is able to be exhibited by 3D modeling software.Pressure test, flow rate test, temperature-rise test and cleaning test of the small household high-pressure cleaner were carried out. For assessing the flexibility of cleaner water cannons, subjective evaluation was used in the paper. Experiments showed that this designed small household high-pressure cleaner conformed to the requirements of the main technical parameters and cleaning effect was good.
