Suspension is closely related to vehicle’s driving smoothness and handing stability. The research on suspension becomes a hot issue, especially people for the vehicle’s comfort requirements higher today. Because of air suspension’s stiffness and damping can be adjusted to improve the ride comfort, vehicles with air suspension receive more and more welcome.Firstly, the thesis introduces the development status of air suspension system, and analyzes its influence on vehicle’s performance, and 1/4 vehicle model with two freedom degrees is developed. Then seven degrees freedom for the vehicle model has been set up, which has considered pitch and roll to vehicle’s performance influence. Finally, for the sake of testing the performance of the vehicle model, air spring is installed on modified car and this car’s performance is tested. The experimental results prove the validity of simulation result. So a conclusion can been got that seven degrees freedom for the vehicle model is reasonable and scientific. In this paper, object of study is a type of air spring which is the national patent product with complete independent intellectual property rights. It can adjust the stiffness and damping coefficient of air spring to adapt the state of roads change. It’s simple structure, low cost, small size. Spatial arrangement is very flexible and can be applied to various vehicles. In short, the air spring has been confirmed that the isolation effect is good in theory. Through test, further verify it can be practical in practice. We can foresee, once this type of air spring was put into use in practice, there must be a broad market prospect.
