A Test Bench Design For Elevator Control Cabinet

The quantity of tall buildings keeps increasing with the rapid development of economy. The elevator plays an important role in people’s daily work and life. The quality and safety of elevator become more and more important with its increasing production. As the core component of the elevator, the control system has a direct influence on the performance of elevator. The manufacturer must test elevator control system before delivery. Therefore, a set of excellent production test equipment of elevator control cabinet is necessary and crucial for production.In this paper, a set of test bench is designed for the production of elevator control cabinet to test the overall performance of elevator control system. The test bench is composed of PLC, cable tester, and an industrial computer(IPC). It achieves automatic test of wiring and function in the elevator control cabinet by taking advantage of original communication system in elevator. The PLC supplies signals of hoist-way and detection of output signals from control cabinet. Moreover, it also makes combination of computer technology and automatic testing to develop the test software with LabVIEW and TestStand. Thus, the test bench can achieve fully detection of elevator control cabinet before delivery. And the test process becomes much easier and more efficient through a user-friendly interface.After the practice test of the elevator manufacturer, it shows that the test bench designed for the elevator control cabinet in this paper can meet the requirements of production. And the test efficiency and reliability are highly improved to ensure the product quality.
