Monitoring network system comparing with the traditional power system monitoring and control system, the substation Monitoring network system based on computer technology, by means of data communication, the integrated use of modern electronic technology, communication technology and modern advanced technology such as information processing of substation secondary equipment memory the detection and control of all-round, three-dimensional, such as relay protection, measurement and control, fault detection and signal wave record, etc., and realizes the Monitoring substation system internal information exchange and data sharing between each equipment, and other functions.In this paper, the development status of substation Monitoring network system is analyzed, and the basis of the design of 10kV substation Monitoring network system is analyzed. Then, the system function requirement, structure form and communication mode are analyzed. The system design requirement is studied according to the actual situation of 10kV substation in Wuhan. In the last part of this paper, we improve and complement the existing 10kV Smart Substation, such as low voltage motor relay protection parameter setting and calculation; small current line selection device has no fixed value design; suitable for the new type of expansion project of five anti system design, etc.. In the actual application of the whole system, it not only greatly improve the work efficiency of the substation, realize the unmanned, automated management, but also maximize the economic benefits and social benefits, has a certain practical significance and guiding value.
