At present there are some basic researches on material properties and basic mechanical properties of recycled concrete block both in China and abroad, but few are conducted on the seismic behavior of recycled concrete block walls. However, the related researches of other materials masonry walls are more enough, can be a reference in this paper. In order to intensive study the seismic behavior of recycled concrete block walls, combining with relevant experiment results, using the finite software ABAQUS for nonlinear analysis. The main contents of paper include:(1)The nonlinear finite element analysis. The finite element model was verified by comparing the simulating results with the experimental ones of recycled concrete block walls. On this basis, walls with various parameters were analyzed, mainly including vertical compress stress, height-width ratio, the setting of constructional column, the material of constructional column, opening size, the hole number, the hole location and reinforcement measures. The results show that, improving the vertical compress stress is good for the bearing capacity of the wall, but bad for its deformation ability; the effect of height-width ratio is opposite to that of vertical compress stress; the bearing capacity and deformation ability of the wall can be improved by setting constructional column,and ordinary concrete constructional column is superior to recycled concrete constructional column; increasing the opening size of the wall will play against the bearing capacity and deformation ability of the wall,and the results will be different;with the increase of the hole number, the deformation ability of the wall will be worse,and the bearing capacity of the wall will be different for the hole arrangement direction;the deformation ability of the wall can be better when the hole shifting from the center of the wall, and the bearing capacity of the wall will be diverse for the hole offsetdirection; the bearing capacity and deformation ability of the wall can be promoted by strengthening the hole, and the core column is good at improving the bearing capacity of the wall, the horizontal beam is adept in elevating the deformation ability of the wall.(2)Shear-bearing capacity formula of the recycled concrete block walls. At first,this paper introduced some related rules about shear-bearing capacity formula of the masonry walls in the current national standards. In addition, the article listed some suggested shear-bearing capacity formulas of the recycled concrete block walls in other papers. on this basis, combining with the finite element analysis results in this paper,presenting two shear-bearing capacity formulas of recycled concrete block walls, which included plain walls and reinforced walls. By comparing the calculated results with the experimental ones and simulated ones, these formulas were proved to be applicable.
