Recycled concrete is a kind of concrete which is made of part or all recycledaggregate(made by waste concrete which is crushed, removed impurities, classified)replacing natural aggregate. With the great development of the society, the demand foraggregates is increasing. Meanwhile, the demolition of buildings and roadreconstruction generate a large number of waste concrete. Using the conventional wayto deal with the construction waste will cause environmental pollution and ecologicaldamage. Therefore, in order to realize the sustainable development of buildingenvironment and the resources, it is more and more important to develop recycledconcrete technology.Related studies show that adding fly ash can improve the durable performance of therecycled concrete, such as the carbonation resistance, the freezing resistance and so on.On this basis, a study is conducted on the seismic behavior of a modified recycledconcrete member with15%fly ash cement replacement rate and a recycled concretemember under the low frequency reversed torsion. The failure features, the hysteresisloops and the ductility under seismic loads and the shear deformation of the beam arecomparatively investigated. On the basis of variable angle space truss theory, the torsionbearing capacity calculation formula is established. And we simulate the stress processof the two specimens under the low frequency cyclic load by using finite elementsoftware ABAQUS. Study on the influence of fly ash on seismic performance ofrecycled concrete specimen. The test and analyses show that test value and the calculated value and the analysis ofthe model have a good agreement. Adding fly ash can improve the durability of recycledconcrete, at the same time, the bearing capacity of modified recycled concrete memberis slightly lower than the recycled concrete member. The ductility index and energydissipation capacity are nearly the same.
