Study Of Origination, Evolution And Current Situation Of Six-yao Of Chang’an City From The Perspective Of Chinese Landscape Culture

Xi’an has been a capital city for the longest time in Chinese history. It has so many historic remains and deep culture accumulation. But as the city’s rapid development in recent years, the ancient city’s landscapes has been severely damaged, and the city characteristic has been gradually disappear. From the angle of Chinese landscape culture, the thesis studies the Six-yao, the topographical advantages of Chang’an city in Sui-Tang periods, sorts out the relations between the Six-yao and the city of Xi’an from Sui-tang periods to this day. The thesis demonstrates the landscape culture connotation and the cultural heritage value of the Six-yao, thinks that it has the value of showing the city cultural features of Xi’an. Based on the case study, the thesis puts forward ideas and methods to protect and display Six-yao.First on the basis of historical data and literatures researching of Six-yao in Sui-tang periods, the thesis thinks that the Six-yao has the connotation of Chinese landscape culture, and it composes the frame of urban planning and layout of Chang’an city in Sui-tang periods. It not only enriches the space change of the city, but also gives artificial construction with spiritual meaning. It is an important component of Chang’an city in Sui-tang periods. On the basis, the thesis sorts out the relations between the six-yao and the city of Xi’an after Sui-tang periods, divides the relationship between city development and Six-yao into four stages: Sui-tang periods, the time Six-yao been used; Song period to the founding period, the time Six-yao been forgotten; Thefounding period to 1990’s: the time Six-yao been mildly developed and used; 1990’s to this day: the time Sis-yao been mass damaged and paid more and more attention. Then by field researching the condition of relic of six-yao, relevant evaluation and classification research, comparing the position in the city and the influence for city space layout of six-yao between Sui-tang periods and this day. The thesis thinks that Xi’an has come into a rapid development time after 1990’s, there are increasing contradiction between six-yao and development of city, and the damage is serious, too. But there are also some good approach that worth learning and reference at the same time. The proposing of <Xi’an Declaration> in 2005 put the importance of site environmental protection to a new height, and it provided a new opportunity to study and protect Six-yao. In the last, by researching on related cases at home and abroad, the thesis puts forward some ideas and methods to protect and display Six-yao.
