Chinese Traditional Culture And Modern Urban Landscape Of Xi'an Study

The study on traditional Chinese culture is an exploration on modern urban landscape. Environmental landscape is actually for satisfying people both materially and spiritually by all kinds of means. This dissertation takes Xi'an as an example to study the best art forms of traditional Chinese cultural elements so as to meet the deep logic need in function. This is an exploration on combining modern urban landscape with traditional culture.With realistic attitude and a systematic method, this dissertation gives a detailed introduction to the effect, significance and forms of traditional culture in landscape of modern cities with profound history and culture like Xi'an.The Prelude introduces the purpose and significance of study. Chapter Two systematically introduces traditional Chinese architectural culture, including city evolvement, characteristics of palace, residence and garden, etc. Chapter Three analyzes current status and prospect of modern landscape in Xi'an, studies the characteristics of Xi'an urban culture and the need for modern landscape, and points out the relationship between urban environmental construction and modem economic development. Chapter Four explains how traditional Chinese cultural elements are embodied in landscape environment, including traditional architecture language, decoration and pattern, local plant application, etc. Chapter Five illustrates with examples the application of traditional Chinese culture in modern urban landscape, which enhances urban regional environment and promotes Chinese culture.
