District Taipei Civil Culture Perspective Protection,renewal And Regeneration

In the process of city development, as the scale and area of city grow, the old part of city starts to have many serious problems, including the recession of local economy,aging of buildings and the reduction of original residences etc. The old part of the city needs to be renewed. In many streets and blocks with long history and splendid culture, some residences are forced to give up the place where they used to live and move to somewhere else because of the bad living condition. Those areas are either abandoned or becoming the gathering place of people from other regions who need low-rent housing, while some areas are regarded as good places by land agent and renewed completely.Protection, renewal and regeneration of the historic district are related to the history of the built environment, cultural environment, economic environment. How to develop historic district?
