The large shopping mall constructions activities are constantly develop toward large-scale, high-end direction, providing more convenient, beautiful, comfortable shopping, dining and entertainment environment for people, and at the same time, they increase fire danger and pressure.From all the time, fire accident of large shopping mall is often seen and domestic and foreign research on fire equipment linkage control in modern large shopping mall is rare, research to these linkage modes is more limited to specifications and confined to a few research and development of automatic fire alarm control system manufacturers. As the market positioning of these large shopping malls are different from traditional ones, and their scales are huge, functional formats cover and contain everything, if the design still follow current codes, it will make the arrangement of each building function area not reasonable, and affect the economy of design schemes.This article takes a large shopping mall in Xi’an city as the research object, the shopping mall has a total of two underground floors, seven ground floors, and the total construction area is more than 200000m2, its commercial function covers department stores, supermarket, catering, skating board, movie cinema, KTV etc. Firstly, the paper analysis structure and specific composition of the predetermined fire alarm and linkage control system in the mall. Secondly, use performance-based fire design research method which has widely used domestic, and PyroSim simulation software and Pathfinder evacuation simulation software as research tools, to set up several different fire scenes in computer model of the large shopping mall, study and summarize the fire characteristics and evacuation situation, combined with the actual situation of the large shopping mall’s fire automatic alarm and linkage control system, put forward the “rank by rank, layer by layer” linkage control principle. It is that take fire source located fire compartment as starting zone, according to the spread of fire, smoke, toxic gas and high temperature, gradually linkage control fire equipment in burning fire compartment and its surrounding compartments and adjacent floors, effectively guide staff in the building evacuate safely, sum up fire equipment linkage control mode under different fire scenarios, in order to provide the basis for the specific settings linkage mode in practical engineering.
