Energy saving and carbon emissions reduction is the focus of the global in today,while the construction industry has been consuming a lot of resources and energy, it produces large amounts of greenhouse gas in the process from the production of building materials, construction, use to dismantle. Therefore, to quantify the net carbon emissions accounting building life cycle,understand the carbon emissions characteristics of the building life cycle stages,and on this basis, it is particularly important to put forward the measure of reducing carbon emissions.According to the method of life cycle assessment,building life cycle is divided into five stages, the material production phase, construction stage, using stage, dismantle,and waste disposal. The concept of building life cycle carbon balance is put forward, On this basis,a calculation model for the balance of the carbon is built, including building carbon emissions and carbon sequestration, finally with the carbon emissions minus the carbon sequestration of carbon balance. Research on xi ’an typical reinforced concrete structure building, classify them according to different layer and uses and calculate the carbon balance.According to the calculation data, the conclusion is that for reinforced concrete structures, since the different floors and uses, leading to different carbon balance, building carbon balance will increase with the increase of construction layer, it is because the high design requirements and construction scale, and residential buildings carbon balance lower than office buildings.Carbon emissions in building material production phase accounted for total carbon emissions the highest proportion, which is relevant to the use of steel, cement and concrete materials.The chemical reaction carbon emissions of material produces is not many, but it is also a source of carbon emissions,it is inevitable. Recycled materials to offset the carbon emissions is the highest in buildingtotal carbon absorption, concrete carbonation absorption and timber alternative to fossil fuels is also cannot be ignored. Overall, the reinforced concrete structure building is high, it has great potential for energy conservation and emissions reduction.This paper not only calculate the carbon balance of reinforced concrete structure building in xi ’an,but analyzes the influence of building floor number and uses to carbon balance and the life cycle carbon balance of each component are analyzed in detail based on the quantitative,it has important reference value to provide specific measures for the energy saving and emission reduction in construction.It has important implications for the development of low-carbon energy-efficient buildings and green development goals in Xi’an.
