Modern economy and industrial mode lead to a growing demand for energy.With temperature rising and carbon emissions increasing rapidly, it has causedenormous impact with the global concern. As a main space for campus working andlearning, low carbon design is the key to make campus an ecological unit and animportant space carrier. Currently, the domestic and foreign researches mainly focuson low carbon regulation policy and implement, which is lack of energy, materialflow quantization of elements in a compound ecological system of low carboncampus operation. Therefore, based on the existing research on the theory of lowcarbon, this paper provides quantization analysis method with low carbonevaluation on landscape planning.The carbon and oxygen balance is discussed in using period of campusecosystem life circle with theoretical research, statistics, qualitative analysis andquantitative comparison methods. And it defines and analyzes the related conceptsof low-carbon campus to summarize the theory from three aspects: low-carbonplanning strategies, energy conservation methods and quantitative assessments oflow-carbon plan theory. Upon the research of carbon and oxygen balance model andthe analysis of campus material flow, energy flow structure, it is from the campusviewpoint that the paper provides the carbon and oxygen balance model and indexsystem research framework.By statistics counting and estimation standard evaluation, QinhuangdaoEnvironmental Management College of China (hereinafter referred to as theQEMCC) campus planning is selected as a practice case. The paper utilizes carbonand oxygen balance model to offer campus-based pre-assessment on using period oflife circle, evaluating social and economic activities of carbon emission and oxygenconsumption. And with the results of the ecological green type basedpre-quantitative assessment of carbon consumption and oxygen emission, itproposes comprehensive evaluation of this campus project.In the using period of campus carbon emission and oxygen consumption model,the paper mainly focuses on in three aspects data calculation: the building energyconsumption, the transportation energy consumption and the life energyconsumption. In the period of campus ecosystem carbon consumption and oxygenemission model, it aims at six kinds of green space data calculation: the woodland,garden, shallow woodland, grassland, wetland and farmland. Comparing theplanning project with the present situation of campus site comprehensively, thecarbon and oxygen quantitative deficit is calculated as a compensation reference of campus sustainable development.Upon the carbon oxygen balance relationship in campus planning and therelevant control variables in carbon oxygen balance model, optimization strategiesof low carbon campus landscape planning methods are proposed. Then it iscompared and analyzed with the prime plan. This paper study on campus in the useprocess with the method of landscape planning and design flow of energy balance ofcarbon and oxygen is utilized to improve landscape planning method of material,energy flow and carbon oxygen balance relationship. Also the study provides newideas and a quantitative reference for sustainable development of low carboncampus planning design.
