The automobile aluminum alloy wheel blank and the forming wheels after machiningexist different levels of glitches. The glitches will affect the surface quality of the wheel andits performance. The method of artificial deburring is time-consuming, and can not guaranteethe quality of deburring. At present, the developed deburring equipment is used for productionline and its automation level is low. The deburring equipment on line is unable to identify themodel of the wheel. On account of the deficiencies of the deburring equipment, developpingan automobile aluminum alloy automatic deburring machine based on CATIA software in thepaper.The main contents are as follows:(1) Do basic research on aluminum alloy wheels glitch and deburring equipment.(2) Determine the overall design of the aluminum alloy wheel automatic deburringmachine. Analyze the structure of the aluminum alloy wheel with glitch in the paper, theglitch distribution and the deburring technical requirements. Then deterimine the overalldesign of the aluminum alloy wheel automatic deburring machine.(3) Design the main structure of the aluminum alloy wheel automatic deburring machinedetailedly and determine the form of the main components of the various parts. First, thestructure of the aluminum alloy wheel valve position located by rotation mode based onfriction transmission principle is able to identify the aluminum alloy wheel models cooperatedwith visual system, which reducing the difficulty of programming online for a robot. Thenverify the reasonability of the designed structure in theory. Design a structure to clamp andremove aluminum alloy wheel. Design a structure for flip positioning aluminum alloy wheel.Verify the reasonableness of the mechanism design above by theory calculating and thecorresponding mechanical model. Finally, focuse on introducing the core of the aluminumalloy wheel automatic deburring machine namely robot and deburring tools. Identify the mainform of the robot and the deburring tools.(4) Check the interference of the design structure from static and dynamic level by usingassembly design module and DMU motion module in CATIA software which is guided by theassembly and motion simulation technology of the virtual manufacturing technology. Finally,give an working cycle program of automobile wheel automatic deburring machine in theappendix of the paper based on virtual reality environment which can achieve the workingprocess of the aluminum alloy wheel automatic deburring machine in virtual reality.Design an automobile aluminum alloy wheel automatic deburring machine by takingadvantage of the CATIA software in mechanical design, especially the assembly designmodule, DMU motion module and knowledge engineering module. Finally, simulate theworking process of the aluminum alloy wheel automatic deburring machine from virtualreality perspective. The method developed in this paper is simple and high efficiencycompared to traditional method.
