Study Of The Small Sized Theatres Design Based On Rebuild Of Old Building

With the development of economy and the deepening of urbanization, the city itself and people’s life change a lot. Facing the fact that every city looks alike, people realize that blindly building a totally new city is not the best way to treat it. Renovation and reuse of old buildings, can not only keep continuity of the architectural context, but also adds new look to old buildings, merge into a local urban style and features.The development of economy brings greatly improve to people’s material life, and thus people need to share more diverse cultural achievements. Small-scale theater becomes more and more people’s favour for its pioneering, thus puts forward new requirements of small theater. In order to achieve the integration of economy and culture, old building renovation for small theater became an important way to fulfill this requirement.This paper mainly studies small-scale theater design based on old building renewal. In the introduction, this article claims the research background, object and scope, significance and research methods and framework. The second chapter summarizes the theoretical research, development and current situation of renewal small theatre at home and abroad, at the same time, analyses the value of the construction of small theater in our country at present, and finally introduces some cases for the modification of small theaters at home and abroad. The third chapter studies the space design of small theater evolving from old buildings, summarizes the characteristics of modified design, sorts out design points for the modification of the small theater based on four aspects including the watching space layout mode, stage design, audience hall design and the quality improvement design of watching space. The fourth chapter studies the reforming design of the accessary space of theater. Finally, this paper sums up the research achievements: the design principle and strategy of small theater evolving from old buildings. Hope that this article research can provide help to practice of the design of small-scale theater transforming from old buildings.
