With the rapid development of Shenzhen city, there are more buildings, and there are a serious shortage of land resources. Urban green land is gradually reduced, urban heat island effect is serious, the comfort of the thermal environment of the city is seriously declined, the construction of green roofs improving urban green coverage, and improving the urban thermal environment, has attracted more and more attention. Shenzhen has unique natural climatic conditions, accompanied with a strong economy, but the low rate of green roofs, green roofs is still in its infancy; This paper studies the influece of the green roofs on the outdoor thermal environment, clearing the ecological functional effects of the green roofs, in order to draw people’s attention to the green roofs.In this paper, using literature research, interdisciplinary, comparative study and summarize methods, and summarizing contemporary green roofs’ types and functions, and analyzing the influence of the thermal environment principles of green roofs, thus tease out the effects of the relationship between the green roof and outdoor thermal environment. By the research of Shenzhen’s green roofs, there are four aspects to considered with green roofs in Shenzhen:(1)How to the scope and effect of green roofs affect on the outdoor thermal environment;(2)Green roofs in the same area, centralized and decentralized which affect the arrange of different layout is greater, the cooling effect is better;(3)How to influence the scope and effect of building height where green roofs;(4)The influence of high-rise building on the roof greening effect around. Based on the above four areas, first of all, for the Shenzhen three typical cases to conduct site surveys, through the analysis of the data to summarize the rules and effects on roof greeningon outdoor thermal environment. Then, through the use of Envi-met software and phoencis software simulation, matching egree verification laboratory simulation method, the atmosphere within the error can be a lot of variables layout simulation. Finally, the use of laboratory simulation method, respectively idealized centralized and decentralized layout simulation, and study the effects of green roofs where the height of the building and surrounding buildings on the block, etc. on outdoor thermal environment. Through various comparisons, to explore how to make better use of green roofs, green roofs play a physical change in the potential of urban space thermal environment.By studying green roofs of public buildings to improve thermal comfort layout, is to take full advantage of this piece of undeveloped urban space to increase urban green space, reduce the heat island effect, improve the quality of public buildings; theoretically, to promote the construction of green roofs and ecological functions and improve the environmental impact of green outdoor heat theory; in practice, it provides some guidance and advice to the Shenzhen Municipal Building green roofs design and implementation, can play a catalytic role of Shenzhen’s rapid promotion of green roofs.
