Turbulent inflow boundary conditions is one of the most important factor of the wind load numerical simulation on structures. The actual wind field needs to meet certain conditions of turbulent intensity and power spectrum characteristics, and there are some turbulence structures. The steady state simulation RANS models can only be converted to turbulent kinetic energy and dissipation rate that unable to simulate turbulent structures. In LES simulation needs the wind velocity field meet the turbulence intensity and power spectrum characteristics which is very important for judging building structural load and the effect of the differences.This paper abandons the traditional steady-state model to find out a instantaneous simulation method which can be more similar to the Atmospheric Boundary Layer wind field. Main works includes:① Explore the basic applications of open source CFD platform on OpenFOAM. By using the steady state model and steady wind speed entrance on a square blunt simulation, finds out the influence of different inflow boundary conditions,eveals the insufficient of the steady state simulation method. Then confirmed the applicability and accuracy of Open FOAM by comparison and analysis with a series of results.② Turbulent inflow of atmospheric boundary layer on CFD simulation is always being a big problem.In this paper, reviews the status results of atmospheric boundary layer wind field.Giving the theory of Kinematic Simulation and Vortex Method,disscussing the important parameters.③ Write computer programs of KS and VM method to integrate into OpenFOAM.Thouth out the LES simulations of the empty wind tunnel,proved the average wind speed profile, turbulence intensity profile and simulation spectrum conform to the ture wind field well.④ Calculated the wind loads on low buildings and compares with the NIST’s authority wind tunnel experiment datas. Finally,discuss the main problem and further development of random fluctuating wind field in CFD simulation.
