In the 21 Century,With the rapid development of economy and the continuous progress of urbanization in our country, the shield tunneling machine has become the indispensable equipment for the city infrastructure construction. The tunneling form of shield machine is cutting the rocks in front by the hob. As the basic implementation component of the shield working, the cutter’s wear and the invalidation will lead to a halt and have to open the sealed cabin to detect the hob’s wear, which will reduce the efficiency of construction. Therefore, the real-time monitoring of the shield hob’s wear has become an inevitable way to improve the project efficiency.In this paper, the monitoring system use wireless transmission as the design concept. Using the combination of modern sensor technology, wireless radio frequency technology, the interface technology and GPRS network technology, a experimental study on a remote monitoring system is made in order to detect the hob’s wear on real time. The system enable the staff to monitor the cutter’s wear and other working information in the office instead of construction site. It is easy for the operator to make decisions timely on the tools invalidation.The main design work of this paper is listed as follows:1. Analyzes the research on the shield cutter wear detection at home and abroad in this paper. According to the design requirements, make rule of the overall scheme and the design principle of the monitoring system.2. Present the cutting process of the shield cutter, assure the quantity to be detected. On the basic principle of the system, select the appropriate sensor and design the applicable detection scheme based on the work principle of the sensor. Especially analyzes the eddy current sensor’s displacement calibration and temperature compensation in detail.3. Complete the design of field wireless acquisition subsystem based on CC1101. The system hardware design mainly contains the design of RF module CC1101 application circuit, MCU circuits, power circuit and RS485 interface circuit. The software design mainly includes the design of sensor’s sampling process and wireless data transceiver process. After all, analyze the low power’s implement in detail.4. Use the GPRS module to realize the remote transmission of the cutter’s wear data. State the network structure and characteristics of GPRS technology and adopt transparent mode to realize the TCP network data transmission. Using Lab VIEW to program the software of the monitoring center.5. In the end, debug the hardware and software of the whole system, put forward the improvement method.The remote monitoring system can judge the shield hob’s eccentric wear, break, stalls and other abnormal phenomenon. The system has the advantages of low power consumption, high precision, high reliability. The terminal nodes can work for free maintenance for up to four months, with good promotional value.
