| Large-span spatial structure is the main structure form of public buildings such as terminal, railway station, gymnasium, exhibition hall, theater and so on. Public buildings need to accommodate large crowds and store important material property, and most of public buildings are the symbol o f country or region, therefore public buildings have a higher importance. Under the influence of factors such as terrorist attacks, human error accident, design and construction defects, it is necessary to consider the progressive collapse resistance of large-span spatial structure.Alternate path method is generally used in progressive collapse resistance analysis for various structures. This paper introduces the alternate path method of the latest progressive collapse resistance design & analysis guidelines published by U.S. General Service Administration(GSA2013), in addition, compares analysis procedures and acceptance criteria with the previous version(GSA2003).The first step of alternate path method is to select removed load-bearing elements. Due to numerous components, it needs to take appropriate primary method for large-span spatial structures. Therefore, this paper classifies and shows evaluation methods of component importance. This paper also performs sensitivity analysis to compare the calculation error of different sensibility response parameters with a plane truss example. This paper using alternate path method to evaluate a large-span cantilever space steel-truss structure’s performance for progressive collapse resistance. Firstly, select failure components by sensibility analysis based on conceptual judgment, followed simulate the failure of component and perform nonlinear dynamic analysis by equivalent load transient unloading method considering the initial state. N ine defective working conditions were analyzed based on the deformation criteria and strength criteria. Under each defective working condition, all members satisfy the deformation limit and strength limit. Therefore, the structure’s alternate load path is reliable, and the structure meets the requirement of progressive collapse resistance. According to the assessment result, the paper also proposes some construction measures for the analytical structure. To provide reference for similar spatial truss structures, this paper defines the parameters for selection, failure simulation and failure criteria of the anti-progressive collapse evaluation method. |
