Large-span chord-tension structure is widely used in the field of architecture because of its reasonable mechanical performance. However, the safety and applicability of large-span spatial structure, especially its collapse resistance performance under the incidental load and earthquake has been a sensitive topic for the public. At present, the analysis of the collapse mechanism of the concrete structure and steel frame structure have been relatively mature, but the research on large span chord-tension structure is less. Based on the domestic and foreign related information, this paper chooses a gymnasium with large span chord-tension truss structure in Zhuhai as engineering background. Using the finite element software SAP2000and MIDAS Gen, the structure is been conducted in-depth research under the earthquake and the local component failure.The main work is as follows:①This paper puts forward the evaluation method of chord-tension truss structure’s robustness, then, the paper carries out sensitivity analysis on the actual project. Finally the paper determines the importance coefficient of components and find out the key components of the structure.②After demolishing the key components of chord-tension truss structure respectively, the paper conducts the static nonlinear analysis of the new structure by Alternate Path Method. Then, the paper compares the dynamic response of structure internal force and displacement.③This paper analyzes the dynamic time history by selecting three seismic waves. Then, the paper compares the dynamic response about chord-tension truss structure internal force and displacement through same seismic waves under different acceleration peak value and different seismic wave.④Comprehensive analysis the dynamic response under the key component failure and the strong earthquake, this paper proposes measures for collapse resistant design of chord-tension truss structure in the view of the concept and provide a reference for structural collapse resistance design and strengthening maintenance.The conclusion is as follows: ①Lasso, lower chord member in the steadier and upper and lower chords in the midspan are the key components of chord-tension truss structure, and improving its redundancy is very effective for structure continuous collapse resistance.②The dynamic response of the structure under different seismic wave excitation is different. However, Plastic hinge members have dynamic consistency when carrying out and yielding. Ultimately we determine the weaknesses of the structure.③Horizontal seismic effects on the structure is stronger than vertical seismic effects on the structure. An appropriate increase in seismic intensity can improve the robustness of the structure to a certain extent.
