With the rapid development of city transportation, underground tunnel engineering is increasing. Tunnel projections are constructed near or even across districts with the high density of buildings frequently due to the complexity of urban environment. If do not take real- time right protective measures, the safety and the normal use of the building will be threatened. Therefore, study the effect of underground tunnel construction to surface buildings is very necessary.According to the practice of Shanghai the Bund tunnel project in Fuzhou Road and Tiantong road section adjacent to or through the surface buildings, By adopting the combination of theoretical analysis and numerical simulation method, the Influences of Excavating Underground passage on Adjacent Strip Foundation was studied in the paper, the main research contents and results are as follows:1. Through numerical simulation and theoretical analysis, the influence factors of adjacent strip foundation deformation in the excavation process of the underground passage was researched. Including the distance from strip foundation to the axis vertical center of the tunnel, buried tunnel depth, tunnel diameter, supporting stiffness and the characteristics of soil, etc. An evaluating method of safety distance between tunnel and strip foundation is presented.2. The influence of surface subsidence under the existing tunnel by the action of load and the applicability of Zinn bernays g formula in the continuous elastic soil are discussed through calculation and analysis.3. According to the estimation of displacement solution of free soil field and the elastic mechanics solution of stress a nd displacement at any point within the half space caused by of tunnel excavation based on the evaluation of ground movement pattern, the calculation deformation formula of the top strip foundation caused by tunnel excavation is deduced. At the same time, we get that the strip footing in the process of tunnel excavation on the influence law of soil movement.
