Research On Methods Of Bulkhead Landscape Design In City Space

As a specific part of the waterfront space design, Bulkhead is a specific area of waterfront, which for people’s daily life, environment and flood controlling. Presently the researchers are mainly focus on theory and practice of bulkhead, however, rarely on form of bulkhead.With the background of Rapid urbanization and landscape mechanization, by discover the method of expression and design, this thesis is to discuss how to create a beautiful and functional bulkhead to show their characteristic of landscape and value of esthetics. By case study and conclusion, this thesis shows the basic design rules and methods of bulkhead design, also this thesis is based on the classification of bulkhead, landscape value and rethink of the bulkhead design faults.This thesis is made of two parts, one is theory research which summarized the research progress of bulkhead in waterfront space and defined the relevant definitions, even showed the principle and method of bulkhead design after that summarized exist relevant theory and practice. The second part is case studies which based on bulkhead designs in three different cities, and verify the principle and methods of bulkhead forms, combination of spaces, analysis of color and ecology.
